Become a Member of the MTA

Support the work of this association by joining the Minnesota Taxpayers Association.

Membership in the Minnesota Taxpayers Association is open to businesses and individuals, with dues starting at $250 per year for small businesses under 50 employees, $950 for larger businesses, or $100 per year for individuals. Units of governments, including schools and libraries may subscribe to receive our Fiscal Focus newsletter (6 issues per year) and Legislative Spotlight (from 5 to 10 issues while the Legislature is in session) for $150 per year, which includes 50% discounts on publications we sell, plus access to all of our free publications before they are released to the general public. Subscribers are not considered to be voting members of MTA.  Trade associations may join for $250 per year as full voting members.

Step 1: Fill out an application

To receive an application for membership, send an e-mail with your name, address, and phone number to info@mntax.org and a member of our staff will contact you, or join with a credit card using the dues schedule below and fill in the requested information at the time of the charge. All members enjoy the same rights and privileges. Your dues are not deductible as a charitable contribution. (They may be mostly deductible as a business expense under other provisions of the law.)

Step 2: Pay the annual dues

Note: All our publications are free to members once their application for membership has been accepted by the MTA.* (To receive an application for membership, send an e-mail with your name, address, and phone number to info@mntax.org and a member of our staff will contact you, or fill out the information when you join below.)

* Membership applications with payment are subject to acceptance by the Minnesota Taxpayers Association Board of Directors. Companies with no Minnesota employees and no significant activity in Minnesota will typically not be accepted for membership. Likewise, individuals not living in Minnesota will not be allowed to substitute an individual membership for the price of publications listed.
